Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, covers an area of 544 square kilometers and sits on the north bank of River Lhasa, a tributary of the Yarlung Tsangbo River, at an altitude of 3,700 meters.

Lhasa has a history of more than 1300 years and has been the center of politics, economy, culture and religion since ancient times. "Lhasa" in Tibetan means "the land of Gods". There are many historic sites and famous relics in the city among which the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery , Gandan Monastery ,1000 room Palace of the Dalai lama, Norbulingka, The summer palace of the Dalai lama, The holiest shrine of Tibet, and The famous Ramoche temple are popular world wide.

This program is best to do in May to September but with a 4 days extension one can do it all around the year. This program does not apply to the age below 15 years.
