Nepal is a small country surrounded by the two great nations China and India. The country is 885 km in length, 241 km in its maximum width, and rises 70 meters from the sea level to 8,900 meters. Nepal can be divided in three great geographical regions: The high altitude of the Himalayas, The middle Hilly region, and lower plains Terai. The Himalayas run throughout the northern border. Eight of the fourteen tops of the 8,000 meters of the world are here. The name of the Everest, Kanchanjunga and Annapurna, attracts and captivates the mountain lovers all over the world. The center of the country is made up of valleys. Among them one of the spectacular valley is the valley of Kathmandu, the capital. It is very interesting to cross her populated area and enter its unique culture. The Terai is said to be the food store for the country. This is the agricultural part of the nation.

The country offers one of the greatest concentrations on natural and wildlife reserves. This includes the Rara National Park, in the west, the Sagarmatha National Park in the east, passing by numerous parks in the south. The Royal Bardia, Royal Chitwan and Tiger Tops national parks, where the tiger of Bengal and Asiatic single horned rhino can be seen is located in the terai region.

Nepal opened it's borders to the tourism only in 1951 but until 1964 only the country was visited by expert mountaineers and explorers. In our days it receives more of trekkers than businessmen,. The country opening to any type of tourism has become synonym of trekking.
